Jhanas Matariki Art
Hey Bloggers!
This week we have been doing some artwork for Matariki and to make this art work we did something called printmaking which is printing a photo on to paper with colourful inks. First we started of by drawing the matariki star cluster onto a piece of paper but we had to make sure it was reversed so that when we print it isn't switched around then we get to draw on the foam which we put our paper with our drawing next to it and try draw it on the foam but we have to make sure we push a bit hard so that the lines are deep enough to show up. We also use a ballpoint pen so that it makes the best ridges. But the step by step process went a little like this.
Step 1 : First we started by getting a piece of A4 paper and started by drawing the matariki star cluster but making sure it is reversed so that after its printed it comes out the right way
Step 2 :Next after our work was checked by the teachers we got a piece foam with out names on the back and then we took our foam and copied our drawing on it
Step 3 : Then was the fun part we got to actually make it so what we did was get some ink that was all set up in the maker space by our lovely teachers and then we used a roller to put ink onto the foam
Step 4 : After we we laid our foam with ink on the table we covered it with a piece of A5 piece of paper and used a clean roller to transfer the ink onto the paper
Step 5: Then we peal it off and reveal but were not quite done then we make a frame for our work by using a stencil that has been made by our very lovely teachers and then we glued it together and then made sure to put our signature and what copy of our work is
Here is mine
And thats it! have u tried print work before?
