Jhanas Matariki Art
Hey Bloggers!
This week we have been doing some artwork for Matariki and to make this art work we did something called printmaking which is printing a photo on to paper with colourful inks. First we started of by drawing the matariki star cluster onto a piece of paper but we had to make sure it was reversed so that when we print it isn't switched around then we get to draw on the foam which we put our paper with our drawing next to it and try draw it on the foam but we have to make sure we push a bit hard so that the lines are deep enough to show up. We also use a ballpoint pen so that it makes the best ridges. But the step by step process went a little like this.
Step 1 : First we started by getting a piece of A4 paper and started by drawing the matariki star cluster but making sure it is reversed so that after its printed it comes out the right way
Step 2 :Next after our work was checked by the teachers we got a piece foam with out names on the back and then we took our foam and copied our drawing on it
Step 3 : Then was the fun part we got to actually make it so what we did was get some ink that was all set up in the maker space by our lovely teachers and then we used a roller to put ink onto the foam
Step 4 : After we we laid our foam with ink on the table we covered it with a piece of A5 piece of paper and used a clean roller to transfer the ink onto the paper
Step 5: Then we peal it off and reveal but were not quite done then we make a frame for our work by using a stencil that has been made by our very lovely teachers and then we glued it together and then made sure to put our signature and what copy of our work is

And thats it! have u tried print work before?

STEAM
Hey bloggers!
This term we have been focusing on science and have been doing very many cool experiments. This week we we're focused on having a little bit of fun so we tried doing the classic school egg drop challenge. Our group came 3rd I believe and had really fun forming our creation. My group worked really well together but I think we could of tried harder in listening to each other but other than that we did do great but our egg sadly did crack a little. here it is.

Hey bloggers!
This week we have been learning all about the treaty of witangi and how it’s was formed. The treaty of witangi is a very important thing to New Zealand because it is apart of its ancestry. Our task today was to create a treaty of witangi voki which either shows us as a Maori or as one of the European settler and show what we think our issues were. Here it is
Did you know this about the treaty of witangi?
Safety
Hey bloggers!
This week we have been learning about our safety and how we can keep ourselves as well as others safe. We have been looking at scenarios of when we need to pick the best outcome to try and keep us and our friends safe. So what we had to do as look at a scenario comic strip that shows people being unsafe and then we had to draw in the last square what we think the people should do to keep them safe. Here is mine
